What a stakeholder record does

A stakeholder identifies a founder, investor, member or other equity participant. It does not issue equity by itself and does not automatically grant Team access.

Add the stakeholder

  1. Select the company and open its cap-table Stakeholders section.
  2. Choose Add stakeholder.
  3. Select Individual for a person or Entity for an organization, then enter the appropriate identity and contact information.
  4. Attach supporting files if needed and save.

Use the correct email and legal name before linking agreements. Check for an existing stakeholder first so that one person does not end up with equity split across duplicate records.

Record equity separately

After creating the stakeholder, add the actual share or unit holding, option grant, RSU, SAFE, note or warrant in the relevant section. Corporations use shares; other supported entities use units where appropriate. Ownership comes from those records, not from the stakeholder name alone.

Files and changes

Add stakeholder offers supporting-file upload. The Edit form changes stakeholder details without file controls; manage existing files on the stakeholder detail page. Removing a stakeholder may be blocked when linked equity records still exist.

Access and limits

Free supports three stakeholders per company. Paid plans remove that record limit. Plus offers a stakeholder portal limited to the stakeholder own records; it is not the same as full Team access, and team permissions take precedence when the same person is also a team member.
